Tourmaline Quartz, a semiprecious stone also known as Tourmalined Quartz or Tourmalinated Quartz, is a variety of Quartz that can be anywhere from opaque milky white to optically transparent or clear, with naturally occurring fine needle-like inclusions of Black Tourmaline.
Though found all over the world, most Tourmalinated Quartz, and our lapidary cabochon material, is mined in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
This one also has reddish gold-colored, hairlike inclusions of Rutile embedded in it giving it the appearance of a lightning show or meteor shower.
