Starry Night Jasper

Starry Night Jasper cabochons are cut from a rare Picture Jasper.

Starry Night Picture Jasper is found just west of the town of McDermott, Oregon.  This area is a 20 mile long caldera that long ago was covered with volcanic ash.

It is named Starry Night Jasper because of its resemblance to the famous Starry Night painting by Vincent Van Gogh.

It is also called Starry Night Landscape Jasper, because of its wonderful scenic "landscapes" of blue and browns.
