Product Description
A round shaped semiprecious stone brown and blue Biggs Jasper designer cabochon 28 mm and 5 mm thick.
Biggs Jasper comes from a deposit near Biggs Junction, Oregon, hence its name.
It was first found in 1960 and in 1966 a large deposit was found when U.S. Hwy 97 was relocated through a canyon south of Biggs Junction. Unfortunately the area is now paved over!
Biggs Picture Jasper is very similar to Deschutes Jasper, China Hollow Jasper and the more recent find called Beers Mountain, all found nearby, but Biggs Jasper is known for its more blue tinges and its reddish brown banding. Sometimes the material is called Blue Biggs Jasper.
Metaphysical Properties: As with all Picture Jaspers, it is said wearing Biggs Jasper cabochon stones can help bring balance to your life.
