Cabochon Suites or Sets

A cabochon suite or set is usually several gemstones custom cut to "match" for an exclusive custom designed piece of jewelry, or for a matching necklace, pendant, ring, bracelet, etc. The sizes may vary as the pendant stone is usually larger than the ring stone and the earrings must match. The big advantage to the jeweler is they don't have to try to look for stones that will match to design a matching set of jewelry. Not only may it be difficult to match cabochons by size, but because they are cut from natural gemstone materials, it is often difficult to match up colors and patterns.
