Blue Ice Agate Cabochons
Blue Ice Agate is also known as Blue Ice Ocean Agate and sometimes Blue Ice Polka Dot Agate.
Agate and Jaspers are members of the chalcedony family. They are usually called agates if they are translucent and have banding. Only solid colored agates are usually actually named "chalcedony", so this is also a Blue Chalcedony.
It is found near Madras, Oregon. It comes from the same area as the well known Polka Dot Agate. This semi precious gemstone material is considered the HIGH GRADE Polka Dot Agate, because of its lovely translucent light blue color. Only about 5% of the Polka Dot Agate is High Grade enough to be called Blue Ice Agate.
