Gorgeous Coyamito Agate from Mexico!
Coyamito Agate is mined less than 40 miles from the world famous Laguna Agate, in Northern Mexico. It is found in multiple deposits on the Coyamito Ranch, hence the name.
Coyamito Agate is known for its wonderful vibrant colors of reds, oranges, violets, and blues. The Coyamito Agate deposit also produces more pseudomorphs than any other agate location. All of these pretty cabochons are at least partly translucent!
Agate is a member of the chalcedony family, or a microcrystalline quartz, and it has a hardness of about 7 on the Moh's scale. The name is derived from its occurrence at the Achates River in southwestern Sicily.
Metaphysical Properties: In general agates are said to be stabilizing and strengthening. They improve memory and increase energy.
