    These wonderful small polished stone slabs of semi precious gemstone materials make perfect unique cabochons for the creative wire wrapper, electroplater, or jeweler! 

    People are referring to these stone slabs as freeform shaped cabochons or natural organic shaped cabochons.  The definition of organic is "related to or derived from living matter".  These gemstone materials are not organic or derived from living matter, but I guess people like the rough edges and considered these "organic shaped cabochons" as more natural or related to living matter.
