This is rare semi precious gemstone chatoyant Arizona Pietersite or Arizona Tigereye. This drilled stone bead pendant is a pretty root beer brown stone with gold chatoyant flash.
This oval shaped bead pendant is drilled with a 3.5 mm hole near the top for hanging on your cord or wire, or adding into your bead creation! It is 39 mm long by 21 mm and 11 mm thick. It is finished on both sides! It is very hard to photograph this material.
This stone material is known as "Arizona Pietersite" because of its superb chatoyant cat's eye effect. It has also been called Arizona Tigereye. Cabochons cut from this material seem to glow with their own internal light.
It is not the same as the original Pietersite found in Africa, or the different material also known as Pietersite found in China. This semi precious gemstone is actually Serpentine with Chrysotile fibers and comes in several varieties-from gold to root beer to silver flash, and from green to brown Serpentine.
Metaphysical Properties: Serpentine is said to sooth emotions and helps one overcome fear of change and to look to the future with anticipation. Chrysotile is used to support honesty and integrity.
Cabochons are stones cut for jewelry and are measured in mm. One inch is equal to about 25 mm.
